The thought of a boudoir session can be nerve-wracking and exciting at the same time! Here I will answer 10 of our most frequently asked questions to hopefully make you feel a little more comfortable being beautifully vulnerable in your session.
Do you share my images?
My number 1 priority is making sure my clients are comfortable, especially with boudoir! It can be a life-changing experience, but that also makes it a little scary! Sometimes, you are learning how to love your body and you aren’t quite ready to share the images with the world, or sometimes these photos are specifically for your spouse aren’t for anyone else’s eyes. These are all great reasons for not sharing your photos, and it all depends on your personal preferences! If there are photos that I would like to share, I will ask your permission first, and only share what you are comfortable with.
Do I have to wear lingerie?
Absolutely not! Please wear what you feel the most comfortable and sexy in! I always suggest creating a Pinterest board with some outfit and photo ideas. Share it with me once you book your session and we can talk about outfit ideas and poses!
Is hair and makeup included?
Only with the Luxe package. If you buy one of the other packages we have a great list of hair and makeup artists in the area that we can suggest for you.
Who will be photographing me?
Nathan and I work as a team, most of the time we shoot together. However, there may be times where only I am available or he is available. We are always willing to work with you if you would prefer to shoot with one of us or both. It would just all come down to the scheduling.
Can I bring a friend with me to my shoot?
Of course! If having a friend or family member there to cheer you on and support you is what you need to be comfortable and confident, do it!
Do you Photoshop my images?
We do edit your images for light, exposure, and color balance. I do NOT however edit anything “out” that is permanent! I think it can be damaging to have a boudoir session done, and then edit out parts of yourself that make you who you are! Part of the process of accepting yourself and seeing your beauty also means not photoshopping out parts of yourself you don’t like. If there are parts of yourself that are learning to love and aren’t thrilled about, that is okay! We are skilled in posing and lighting to make you look your absolute best.
Should I come to my shoot early?
We always recommend arriving at your shoot at least 10-15 minutes early so we can chat, choose what outfit you want to start with, and just start to get settled and comfortable in our space.
What’s your turnaround time?
We always try to get your photos to you within a week. If there is any delay, we will let you know as soon as possible.
Do you offer digitals?
All of our packages include some sort of print product, anything that is printed in a folio or album you get as a digital image as well. There is also an A La Carte list that you can choose from as well! On this list, we have an option to add on digital images. These digital images come in a locked online gallery, for you to download and share.
Have you ever done a boudoir shoot yourself?
Yes, I have! A few times with Nathan. I love them! I was a little anxious the first time, because like every woman, there are things about myself that I really don’t like. But once I moved past that and saw my images I was hooked! I am always begging him to do another one with me.
